Harold PexaHarold Pexa is one of the applicants in a court action against Sask Power, the Government of Saskatchewan and the Crown Investments Corporation. He has been following the issue of climate change with increasing concern for nearly three decades as we see the effects of the destabilization of the climate by emissions from the burning of fossil fuels grow increasingly severe. The fact that Saskatchewan is the province with the highest per-capita carbon emissions in Canada – itself one of the world’s highest emitters per capita - while having never implemented any significant emission reduction measures, prompted him to participate in this action opposing Sask Power’s plans to build new unabated fossil-gas-fired power generation that will continue for decades to significantly contribute to worsening what is already an emergency that poses an existential threat to our future on this planet.
