Jill Forrester
Jill Forrester is one of the applicants in the court action Dykstra et al v SaskPower et al (KB -RG-848 of 2023).
Jill, a mother, and grandmother has always had an appreciation of nature and a devotion to caring for our environment. Jill has been following the issue of climate change for more than 30 years and has moved from being cautious, to concerned, to now alarmed by the climate emergency impacts we are already facing today. For decades Jill has not observed any rational government policy in Saskatchewan to mitigate the causes of dangerous climate change. Jill is hoping that the court will hear this application and provide much needed clarification about our Charter rights. Jill feels that there is something wrong when we so clearly know that burning fossil fuels causes dangerous climate change, but the Saskatchewan government and its crown corporation, SaskPower, are continuing to expand gas generation without regard for the harms the additional pollution will cause.
